Bell jar with glass stopper is basically used as a glass cover in a laboratory. It could be used to cover display items to protect them from direct sunlight to prevent excessive heat build up. In some case, bell jar with glass stopper may also be fitted with a vacuum hose in order to remove excess air from the inside of the chamber.
